Emmie Niethammer - Pastor

Emmie received her call to ministry in 2016 and received her license to preach in the Spring of 2020. She began as a local part time pastor in the Fall of 2021 as well as her Master of Divinity journey at Asbury Theological Seminary. Her passion in ministry is to love Christ's church and has a deep desire to help people find purpose and joy in following Jesus.

 

Married 21 years, she is wife to Mark and mom to one daughter, Lauren. Her previous work experience is in Finance, Human Resources, Employee Benefits, and local government.

 

She enjoys playing tennis, walking/running, traveling, cooking, and watching most sports.

David Travis - Worship Leader

David began playing piano at age six. By age ten, he was playing organ in his home church in Dayton, Tennessee. He studied music at Bryan College in Dayton, and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. While majoring in Piano Performance, he also played percussion in both the UTC marching band and orchestra. He also sang with the Chattanooga Singers.

Currently, David leads our worship at Oakwood First UMC and sings with the Emory Chorus.

David loves animals, gardening, and spending time on his family's farm.

Cindy McEver - Administrative Assistant

Cindy has enjoyed serving as Administrative Assistant here at Oakwood for 17 years.

 

She is a family person and homebody. She has been married to her husband, Matt, for 29 years, while raising 2 *grown up* kids, along with 4 inside rescue black cats and all of the neighborhood cats that manage to find her doorstep, keeping her busy with the Feral Cat Program of Georgia. She enjoys puttering in the garden, yard, watching her bird feeders, and listening to music. She is also an avid reader.
